We will be hand making and binding several books and then working to boldly fill them with drawings. We will sew, glue, tape and weave our pages together while taking pointers from historical examples. As a fun way to fill the blank pages, I will be giving out a daily drawing challenge or “dare”. Don’t let the challenge part scare you, they are mostly light and whimsy, and it takes the pressure off of thinking of what to draw. By the end you all will be coming up with your own drawing dares for the group. These can remain personal or be shared out. This class will be educational, and more importantly it will be fun and relaxing!! If you want to make many handmade books and love to draw, this class is for you.

Sarah Adelaide Hewitt (she/her) is native Vermonter who for many years to traveled the world with her sketchbooks. Sarah is an energetic, inspired, nature and children-loving individual and she loves to combine my passions for nature and art. She is a practicing artist, mother, arts educator, and budding herbalist. She has a painting degree from Rhode Island School of Design and is currently pursuing a master’s in art education from Northern Vermont University-Johnson.
