Do you like reading graphic novels or comic books? Have you ever wondered how they are made or have wanted to make one yourself? Then this class is for you! Over the course of 6 weeks, students will work together to create a collaborative comic book - telling a story, illustrating the pages, and learning how to create a finished product. Students will learn a variety of drawing, printmaking, and comic book creation techniques throughout the class. Come sketch, color, ink and print your way through this fun course!

Rachel Lemay (she/her) is an art and dance teacher based in Johnson, VT. Rachel received a Bachelor’s Degree in Art and Dance Education from NVU-Johnson in 2019, studying both art and dance as well as how to teach to students of all levels and abilities. A passion of Rachel’s is to reach every student in her classroom and make sure that all have access to personal creative expression and the arts. Most recently, Rachel was a Long Term Substitute Art Teacher at Hyde Park Elementary School, teaching throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Rachel enjoys being outside, being active, and of course, making art!
