We’re so pleased to announce our lineup of Summer Camps for the 2022 summer. As we welcome returning favorites, we’re excited about some new camp initiatives to make this summer’s camp season the best yet.

As part of our mission for Arts for Everyone, River Arts is offering a sliding scale tuition model this summer. We have three sliding scale options for families to choose from based on their needs. As we strive to make our programming possible for as many families as possible, we ask those with access to more resources to consider paying more tuition to help those with fewer economic opportunities.

  • Tier 1 - Supported Tuition - Does not reflect the true cost of running the program, an option for families who might otherwise not consider sending their child to camp.

  • Tier 2 - Reduced Tuition - Our historically low rate, covering the direct costs of paying instructors and materials.

  • Tier 3 - Regular Tuition - Helps support scholarships for other campers, pays for things like the AC and lights, and other indirect costs of running summer camp.

We never turn a student away based on inability to pay and if our sliding scale model still makes it difficult for your student to attend, we can work with your family to provide additional tuition assistance. Please email info@riverartsvt.org if you would like to begin that conversation.

As part of our structure of camps this year, students will spend some time every day recreating outside, taking their art out of the building, doing research in the Morrisville Centennial Library, and helping to prepare their own healthy snacks.

We’re also excited to announce new collaborations that will enhance camper’s experience within our community. This summer our Eco-Arts Camp will be run in partnership with the Lamoille County Conservation District. Students will spend at least 2 days out at the Lamoille Nature Center gathering materials and doing wildcraft projects.

We’re thinking outside the box for our public art camp as well, collaborating with the Lamoille Housing Partnership to complete a mural that will be a permanent addition to their new housing project down the street from River Arts. Students will be thinking beyond the mural format at different forms of public art, like poster making, wheat-pasted mini-murals, sidewalk murals, and interactive performance art.

As a PSA about our clay studio- I know parents will be eager to get their students into our 1/2 day wheel camp, but please be aware we are limited to only 4 wheels. We’re hoping to add another 1/2 day wheel camp later in the summer, but we are still searching for an instructor with availability!
