Rusty and The Fellers Saturday, November 16 6pm-8pm
River Arts in Morrisville will once again host Rusty Dewees, local storyteller/musician/actor as he brings his unique brand of humor and storytelling to locals, and this time, he’s bringing friends.
Musicians Mark Burds and Patrick Ross will accompany Rusty for this show, intermingled with Dewees’ celebrated humorous stories highlighting a Vermont way of life.
“It’s exciting to bring together some great local musicians for a night of singing and playing,” says Dewees. “Mark’s from Tundridge and Patrick’s from Canaan, so it’s a great blend of acoustic guitars, fiddle and mandolin with some of the best folk/country picking and singing around.”
“I’m also excited to introduce a young local musician Brinley Hirce who’ll play with the ‘Fellers’ for a song or two.”
Raised in Vermont since the age of 7, Dewees career spans from working with Robert Ringer’s Repertory Theater in Burlington to studying, acting, and working in New York, honing his storytelling skills with the heart of Vermont always present in his work.
Dewee’s enjoys performing at River Arts as it lends the old timey feel of community gatherings to his shows. “I feel this show is using River Arts building as it’s intended,” Dewees says, “without modern electrification, we’ll play it the old fashioned kitchen tonk way, just the instruments and our voices.”
Guests will also be in for a treat during a short intermission including pie for sale by the slice, coffee, and cash bar available.
Rusty Dewees will be performing with the Fellers on Saturday November 16th from 6:00pm-8:00pm at River Arts located on 74 Pleasant Street in Morrisville. Parking is in the municipal lot across the street. Tickets can be purchased at riverartsvt.org ahead of time for $25 each at riverartsvt.org or in person at the event for $30.
