A Mid-Summer Update from Our Fantastic Intern
The first five weeks of this summer have flown by! Every day in the building brings new activities and learning experiences. Summer camps have brought a new level of energy and some creative inspiration. It is so great seeing campers enjoy the arts and make friends over their week. In the office, I have learned so many new skills, from Adobe Illustrator and google spreadsheets to painting and everywhere in between I know I will use these skills for years to come.
A highlight of my time so far has been the art tent at Wednesday Night live every week. Getting to run this tent and engage with the community firsthand has been such a great experience. I love seeing all the creativity that emerges from the blank projects I create. Each person who comes into the tent approaches the project differently and their enthusiasm for art is contagious.
As I look forward to the last few weeks of my internship, I am very excited to apply my previous experiences to our future projects and even to my future schooling and jobs. Getting to see the inner workings of River Arts, along with the community side of this organization has been such a privilege this summer. I know these last few weeks will go by even faster than before, but I hope they are filled with as much excitement.
