Uke Can Do It: Beginners Ukulele Class

Budding ukulelists will have the opportunity to learn how to play the ukulele in a small group setting. Instructor Rachel Funk will incorporate various musical games, movement, and singing exercises to develop children's musicianship skills in a fun and engaging way. The class will focus on learning chords, strumming techniques, and several beginner-friendly songs to practice and perform together. This is a great opportunity for the youth of Lamoille County not only to learn a new instrument but also to develop essential life skills such as teamwork and communication.

*Students are provided with ukuleles during class. Ukuleles are not permitted to leave the studio at any time.

Rachel Funk comes from a musical family, and music has always played a vital role in her life. She has been teaching music lessons to both children and adults for several years. Currently, she works as an independent ukulele instructor in Lamoille County and beyond. In addition, she teaches a weekly preschool music class at a local daycare center. Rachel is a talented singer-songwriter who was recognized as "One to Watch" by Nashville Songwriters Association International. She is a member of the local band Take 5 and the ukulele quartet, The Ukuladies.
