In a Moment

Photographs by Lauren Stagnitti

In a Moment features recent infrared photography, printed primarily on aluminum, by Lauren Stagnitti. The landscape, featured prominently in the exhibit, represents a collection of “moments” from her time spent driving through Vermont with her camera.   Around for more than one hundred years, infrared photography currently offers digital and film photographers the ability to explore images using special filters that render a variety of colors, and often create an atmospheric effect.  Stagnitti uses infrared as a tool to “pull the unexpected” from her surroundings.

For the last 25 years, Stagnitti has worked primarily as a freelance photographer.  Originally from Sayville, New York, Lauren moved to Vermont in 1980 and currently resides in Morrisville, Vermont.
