The Gallery at River Arts will open a special two-week exhibition of (the late) Dohrn Zachai’s private collection of paintings, drawings, sketchbooks and writing from her studio in Johnson.
From her roots in Jersey City, New Jersey in the 1930’s to her studio and home in Johnson, Vermont, Dohrn’s artistic talents spanned far and wide to include dance, music and composition, textiles, drawing and painting.
Zachai’s work can be found in the collection of the Museum of Arts and Design in New York, as well as the American Craft Council Library and Archives Digital Collections. Friends and the public are invited to a memorial celebration of Zachai’s life given by her friends on Saturday, August 29th from 5:00-7:00p.m., at the River Arts Center.
The Gallery at River Arts is located upstairs in the Robert C. Folley Hall at the River Arts Center, 74 Pleasant Street in Morrisville, VT.
