River Arts has been instrumental in my success as a photographer. From my very first exhibit the staff has provided excellent guidance along with continual encouragement and support. River Arts is truly a community asset.” – Artist/Instructor/Participant

The River Arts Center is home to two gallery spaces:

The Common Space Gallery
, located on the main floor of the River Arts Center, and The Gallery at River Arts, located in the Robert C. Folley Performance Hall on the second floor, are juried exhibition spaces featuring emerging local artists and established regional and international artists.

River Arts also curates a satellite gallery space at the Morrisville Post Office, bringing visual art into the everyday fabric of our community.

Exhibitions are determined by the Rivers Arts Gallery Committee, and welcomes all artist submissions. If you are interested in an exhibit in any of the River Arts galleries, please email your submissions to [email protected]

River Arts invites sculptors to submit images of sculptures that could be installed for 6-12 months in front of the River Arts Center. A sculpture should be sized appropriately for the space, safe for installation in a public location, and safe in Vermont winter. It must be bolted onto the 32″ x 48″ pad near the front entrance. Our goal is to develop a database of sculptors who would like to participate in this program, to be invited as the space opens up.

Please submit one or more high-resolution jpeg images, along with a one-page resume/bio and artist statement to [email protected]

Call to Artists: Morristown Mosaics

River Arts of Morrisville invites our artistic, creative community to collaborate in part two of the “Mosaic Project,” a unique and fun group exhibit that celebrates how individuals, working together, contribute to a more vibrant community. Each participant will receive a prepared panel to create a small work that uses a section of a photographic image for inspiration. Participants are encouraged to use a variety of artistic mediums to creatively interpret their “piece” of the whole on the prepared panels, which will be collected and reassembled to form different “mosaic” images for a final exhibition in July 2019.

The two part “Mosaic Project” began in the fall with “Morrisville – Favorite Places,” a juried group show in which photographers were invited to submit images of their favorite places in Morrisville. The exhibit featured the work of 12 photographers in the Common Space Gallery at River Arts. The second part of the Mosaic Project begins with a call to the creative community to interpret sections of selected photographs from the “Morrisville – Favorite Places” show.

Panels and guidelines will be given out at the River Arts Center February, 2019 with artwork due in June, 2019. Completed panels will be returned to River Arts and reassembled as part of a larger composition, which will remain a mystery until the final exhibition in the summer of 2019.

Contact River Arts to sign up or for more information at [email protected] or 888-1261. Artwork and proceeds from exhibition sales will benefit the River Arts Center and its creative programs for children and adults. River Arts is a non-profit organization located in the heart of Morrisville, VT offering classes, workshops and exhibitions in the arts. River Arts is committed to making the arts accessible to every resident of Lamoille County and surrounding communities no matter what their ability, age, or financial means.
