Artist Statement 

Some of my best conversations are with paintings or drawings.

 

Every drawing I ask:  What are they thinking?  Do they see me?  Do I know this person?  Have I been to this place before…how do I know?  What is the thing that makes this familiar?

 

Every painting is a puzzle.  Find the thing that shouts out and says, “this is what the painting is really about…”.  The painting asks you to focus on what is important, and push that to the max.

 

I don’t think of myself as a spiritual painter, but I try to make paintings that are technically incomplete but with enough life that they tell a story.
