YOUTH
Classes begin the week of March 10 in the River Arts Center. Youth classes are $55 for 10 weeks of classes. That’s about $5 a class for quality arts instruction! Get Your Groove On classes are $65 due to extended class time. Scholarships are available.

Monday
3:30- 4:30 Lets Dance!, with Chatch Pregger. Ages 4-6
Express your unique creativity through movement in this fun environment. We will explore aspects of Ballet, Modern, jazz, folk and swing, through the fun use of our bodies and minds. No experience needed to move and feel the music. ($55)
3:30- 4:30 World Groovez 1, with Dov Schiller. Ages 6-11
Come take a trip around the world and experience the sounds and rhythms of jazz, rock, funk, hip hop, rap, hand drumming and
world percussion. Each student will progress through hands on studies in stick control, rudiments, and rhythms. Students will develop power, endurance, confidence, and musical discipline. Following the final performance everyone goes home with their own home-made & recycled bucket drum, including sticks! ($55)
4:45- 5:45 World Groovez 2, with Dov Schiller. Ages 11-14
Same as World Groovez 1 but for older kids. ($55)
Tuesday
3:15- 4:00 Beginner Tap/ Jazz, with Jennifer Lindsay. Ages 6-11
A combination class focusing on Tap, Jazz, Ballet, and Hip Hop. This class will introduce students to all ranges of dance and give them a well rounded understanding of the many sides of dance. ($55)
4:00- 5:00 Advanced Tap/ Jazz, with Jennifer Lindsay. Ages 6-11
This class is for those students with some experience, especially if you’ve already taken a class with Jennifer. ($55)
5:15- 6:15 Hip Hop 1, with Caitlyn Dias. Ages 6-11
Hey girls and guys! You don’t need any experience to come dance with us and learn some new basic hip hop moves. Be sure to wear comfortable clothes and dance shoes, or clean sneakers. ($55)
6:30- 7:30 Hip Hop 2, with Caitlyn Dias. Ages 11-14
Same as Hip Hop 1 but for older kids. ($55)

Friday
9:00 am- 10:00 am (4 weeks) Parent/ Child Art Time, with Jennifer McKenzie. Ages 2-4
Join Jennifer in this exploration into the arts with your child or children. Colors, textures and more will be incorporated along with stories. ($55)
3:30- 4:30 Art Expeditions, with Jennifer McKenzie. Ages 4-6
Did you know crayons can talk? We will combine our imaginations with the colors of the rainbow to have an hour of fun and create individual art experiences. ($55)
3:30- 4:30 Circus 1, with Alla Youdina.
Ages 6-11
You too can join the circus! Learn basic acrobatics and juggling from highly acclaimed Russian coach and performer Alla Youdina. Alla is a former creative director of new circus acts for the Ringling Brothers and Disney on Ice. ($55)
4:45- 5:45 Art Explorations, with Jennifer McKenzie. Ages 6-11
Children will combine their imaginations with colors, lines and patterns and spring forth into the world of art and their own creativity. ($55)
4:45- 5:45 Circus 2, with Alla Youdina. Ages 11-14
Same as circus one, but for older kids! ($55)
4:00- 5:30 Get Your Groove On 1, with Breanna Hart. Ages 11-14
Create a new style in this hip hop class. Students learn the elements of jazz and hip hop, starting with basic steps and moves. ($65)
5:30- 7:00 Get Your Groove On 2, with Breanna Hart. Ages 14-18
Same as Get your Groove On but for high school dancers. ($65)

5:00- 6:00 (Starts 3/10; runs 10 weeks) Beginning Ballet, with Chatch Pregger.
Always wanted to take ballet but never had the chance? Maybe you took it in the past but that was years ago? Learn posture and improve body control while getting in shape. Ballet teaches use comprehensive ways to use and shape our bodies. Revisit your graceful side and learn ballet (a picture of Chatch himself, there on the left). ($75)
6:30- 7:30 (3/10; 10 weeks) Swing Dancing, with Chatch Pregger.
Join us for a trip back in time to a dance style that swept the world in the 1920s and 30’s. Learn to lead or to follow in this fun filled energetic style. Dance to music by Brian Setzer and the Royal Crown Revue as well as old favorites like Benny Goodman and Count Basie. This class will include a final dance party featuring Vermont musician Lewis Franco. Learn how, then show your stuff! ($75)
7:00- 9:00 (3/10; 3 weeks) Introduction to Ring Making: Wax Carving, with Meghan Carroll.
Work with Megan to create your very own silver cast ring! Carve, cut and file your completely personalized wax ring mold. We’ll send them off to be cast in silver and then you can polish and shine them. ($85)

Thursday
5:30- 8:30 (March 20 & 27 only)* Garden Design, with Dawn Andrews and Mary Brandt.
Learn how to design your own home landscape and gardens. Topics include: assessing your space, creating a plan, choosing plants for sun and shade, and whimsical garden art. ($25)
5:00- 7:00 (Starts 3/17; runs 4 weeks)*
An Introduction to Life Drawing, with Lauren Stagnitti.
The figure will provide students who are new to life drawing the opportunity to learn about light and shadow and how it affects the human form. Join this class and participate in a centuries old tradition. ($85)
7:00- 9:00 (3/17; 4 weeks)* Life Drawing, with Lauren Stagnitti.
This class is designed for students who have some drawing experience and are ready to sharpen their figure drawing skills. We will concentrate on understanding how proportion, light, shadow, and foreshortening affect the figure. ($85)
7:00- 9:00 (4/3; 4 weeks)* Floral Design, with Sara Waskuch.
Learn the elements of design applied to the floral medium and how to get the results you want. There will be emphasis on basic skills and mechanics to create a floral arrangement. It will be up to the individual to then make their creations based on their creativity and taste. You will walk away each session with a piece created by you. Let your imaginations go wild! ($85)

ELDER
Our elder program, generously supported by the Copley Munson Fund. The Elder Arts program will begin in March. Check back for more details.
