The River Arts Center has 24 historic windows that are being meticulously restored by a skilled preservation craftsperson – Sally Fishburn. Originally built in 1847 as the first Peoples Academy, the building later housed the Lamoille Grange for over 100 years. The old wavy glass has brought light to countless school lessons, meetings, potluck suppers and community gatherings.
With a gift of $1500 to River Arts, donors can name a window and create a lasting tribute to a loved one, making their name part of the fabric of our community. They may also name a window in honor or in memory of a family or organization, a teacher or other person who has given much to the community. The window will have a permanent nameplate with this tribute. Because there are only 24 windows, this is a limited and unique opportunity.
