HOMEGROWN ANIMATION with Vermont Filmmaker, Meredith Holch

Posted October 30, 2009

guys-carry-barn2Saturday, November 14th at 7:00 pm, Vermont filmmaker, Meredith Holch, will show a selection of her colorful and captivating animated shorts.   A Q&A with the filmmaker will follow.   The program features her brand new film NEIGHBORS (13 minutes), which is about walls, freedom of movement,  and the lives of undocumented workers on Vermont dairy farms, and recently won “The James Goldstone Award” presented by the Vermont Film Commission at the 2009 Vermont International Film Festival.

The films use the simple technique of stop-motion animation to bring cut-outs, toys, and household objects to life.   While there is nothing inappropriate for children in the subject matter, the program is geared toward adults.  Suggested donation of $8.00 at the door. This program is AT RIVER ARTS

Holch has been making animation since 1990.  Her work screens at venues including MoMA, (NYC), PBS, International Film Festivals, the walls of endangered community gardens, and the sides of old barns near her home in East Hardwick, Vermont.
