River Arts presents The Anatomy of a Calamity, a sculpture series by John Rubino. The Anatomy of a Calamity is a series of five sculptures depicting the course of a traumatic event. The pieces were created at John Rubino’s studio in Morrisville with apprentices Paul Green, Luke Heller, Ethan McGovern, Hans Mindnich, Dylan Zukswert and assistant Michael Gibson. Phil Rosenblum and Phillip Lamphere Allaire documented the project with both still and video images.
This critically acclaimed installation follows the course of a traumatic event, as it manifests itself in the life of a survivor. Each of the five pieces depicts a stage of the process.
