Ian Ethan Case CD Release Concert

Join us Friday, August 29 from 8-9:30pm for Ian Ethan Case’s special CD Release Concert celebrating his new CD, “Into Open Land”.  This concert will feature solo double neck guitar performances by Ian Ethan Case as well as trio pieces with Mike Bernal on fretless bass and Bill Bougill on drums and percussion.  After studying and composing as a drummer, guitarist, bassist, pianist and composer, Ian uses the double neck guitar as a natural vehicle for sharing his multi-layered, band-inspired compositions.  Case’s sound comes from a wide variety of highly original playing techniques that take full advantage of 18-strings, two fretboards, and his experience as a musician.

Emmy winning composer & recording producer/engineer, Peter Bruce Wilder has this to say:  “Ian Case represents something so new in musical approach, that the result is near impossible to pigeon hole into a ’sounds like’ statement. It has been my personal privilege to observe his unwavering and deep exploration of this new technique and on a relatively rare instrument, the double neck acoustic guitar.  Whether you are the recipient of his new CD, or are fortunate enough to experience a live performance, the original music of Ian Case is not to be missed.”

Admission is $6/person or a maximum of $20/family. Feel free to come early to celebrate John Rubino’s opening sculpture exhibit The Anatomy of a Calamity from 6-8pm.
